The Already Series website respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit alreadyseries.com, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
The website is currently operated by Jay Shepard. References to “Already Series,” “we,” “us,” and “our” in this policy refer to Jay Shepard and the operation of the Already Series website.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to:
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the website.
A. Already Series Updates
If you ask to receive Already Series updates, we may collect:
- Your email address
- Your first name
- The books or subjects in which you indicate an interest
- The page or source through which you subscribed
- The date and time of your request
- Records showing the consent language presented to you
- Confirmation and subscription status
- Unsubscribe or suppression status
- Technical information needed to confirm your request and protect the signup process from abuse
Submitting the signup form does not immediately subscribe you. We use a double-opt-in process, which requires you to confirm your request through an email sent to the address you provided.
Brevo provides our transactional-email and marketing-email services. Brevo maintains the authoritative record of whether an address is eligible to receive Already Series marketing emails.
B. Contact and Supporter Forms
If you contact us through the website or provide supporter, contribution, fulfillment, or signed-copy information, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number, if provided
- Your mailing or shipping address, if needed
- Information about the subject of your message
- The contents of your message
- Book, contribution, supporter, or fulfillment details
- Any other information you voluntarily provide
Messages submitted through these forms may be delivered to and stored in Google Workspace or Gmail so that we can respond, provide requested information, or complete the applicable fulfillment activity.
Please do not submit highly sensitive information through a general contact form.
C. The Compass
The Compass allows visitors to ask questions and participate in an automated conversation without creating a conventional user account.
Compass information may include:
- Questions and conversation messages
- Automated responses
- Conversation identifiers
- Dates and timestamps
- Feedback ratings
- Reported concerns
- Technical or platform information associated with the conversation
- Any personal information a visitor voluntarily includes in a message
The Compass does not require you to submit sensitive personal information. Please do not enter information such as Social Security numbers, financial-account information, payment-card information, passwords, medical records, or other confidential information.
Because Compass conversations are open-ended, a visitor could voluntarily disclose personal, religious, marital, health-related, or otherwise sensitive information. Any such information will be processed as part of the conversation.
The Compass is provided through Base44’s platform and may use artificial-intelligence model providers selected or managed by Base44. Compass conversations, memory, and related records may be stored or retained within Base44-managed systems. Certain details concerning underlying model providers, provider-controlled retention, cross-session memory, and the handling of anonymous identifiers are controlled by Base44 and may not be visible to us.
Automated Compass responses are provided for general informational, reflective, and educational purposes. They are not professional medical, legal, financial, mental-health, or crisis advice.
D. Payments and External Purchases
The website may link to Stripe, Amazon, or other outside services through which you can make a contribution or purchase a book or related product.
Payment-card information is submitted directly to the applicable payment provider. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number through the Already Series website.
We may receive transaction information needed to identify a payment, provide a receipt, fulfill an order, maintain accounting records, prevent fraud, or resolve a transaction issue. This may include your name, contact information, payment amount, transaction date, transaction identifier, and fulfillment information.
Stripe, Amazon, and other payment or sales providers process information under their own privacy policies and terms.
E. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting, security, analytics, and infrastructure providers may automatically receive information such as:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser and device type
- Operating system
- Referring page
- Pages requested or viewed
- Dates and times of requests
- General interaction and performance information
- Security, error, and diagnostic information
This information may appear in hosting logs, security systems, analytics, or provider-controlled records.
The application does not currently use advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral-advertising trackers. We do not use website information to deliver targeted advertising based on your activity across unrelated websites.
F. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website itself does not intentionally place advertising or remarketing cookies.
Base44, Cloudflare, and other infrastructure providers may use cookies, local storage, short-lived device identifiers, or similar technologies when needed to:
- Deliver website functionality
- Protect forms against bots and abuse
- Maintain security
- authenticate administrators
- preserve platform or conversation state
- diagnose errors
- measure website reliability and performance
Cloudflare Turnstile is used to protect certain forms from automated abuse. Depending on its configuration and the security challenge presented, Cloudflare may use cookies or equivalent technologies. These technologies are used for security and fraud prevention rather than cross-site behavioral advertising.
Because provider behavior can depend on browser conditions and security settings, a particular security cookie may not appear during every visit.

3. MARKETING EMAILS AND UNSUBSCRIBING
We send Already Series marketing emails only after the recipient completes the applicable confirmation process.
Marketing emails include an unsubscribe method provided through Brevo. To unsubscribe, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of a marketing email. That link is specific to your subscription and allows Brevo to process the request through its marketing system.
If you no longer have access to a marketing email, contact us at support@alreadyseries.com.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily prevent essential transactional messages, such as a response to a request you initiated or information concerning an active transaction.
We may retain the minimum information needed to document consent and honor an unsubscribe request. This information will not be used to resume marketing without appropriate consent.
4. HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use personal information for targeted advertising or qualifying automated profiling.
We may disclose information to service providers that help operate the website and provide requested services. Depending on how you use the site, these providers may include:
- Base44, for website hosting, databases, backend functions, platform analytics, administration, and Compass infrastructure
- Brevo, for transactional email, subscription confirmation, marketing-list administration, and marketing email
- Cloudflare, for security, bot detection, and abuse prevention
- Google Workspace or Gmail, for receiving, storing, and responding to contact or supporter messages
- Stripe, for payment and transaction processing
- Other fulfillment, accounting, technical, or professional-service providers when reasonably necessary
We may also disclose information:
- When required by applicable law, court order, or legal process
- To investigate fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity
- To protect our rights, property, safety, users, or the public
- In connection with a future transfer or reorganization of the website, publishing operation, or related business, subject to appropriate protections
Providers may process information under their own terms, privacy policies, infrastructure, and retention practices.
5. EXTERNAL LINKS AND EMBEDDED RESOURCES
The website may contain links to Amazon, Stripe, YouTube, Google Drive, social-media platforms, and other outside websites.
When you follow an external link, the receiving service may collect information independently under its own privacy policy. We do not control the privacy or security practices of outside websites.
Images, fonts, videos, audio, or other resources delivered through third-party hosting services may also cause those providers to receive ordinary web-request information, such as an Internet Protocol address, browser information, requested resource, and timestamp.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to provider capabilities and legitimate legal, operational, accounting, security, and consent-record requirements.
Our intended retention practices include:
- Unconfirmed subscription attempts: Expired, unconfirmed signup information should ordinarily be deleted or privacy-minimized approximately 30 days after the confirmation token expires.
- Active subscribers: Subscription and consent information may be retained while the person remains subscribed.
- Unsubscribed contacts: Minimum consent and suppression evidence may be retained as necessary to demonstrate consent and prevent accidental future marketing.
- Contact messages: General contact correspondence may ordinarily be retained for up to 24 months after the inquiry is resolved, unless an ongoing relationship, dispute, or legal need requires longer retention.
- Supporter, contribution, shipping, and fulfillment information: Operational information is retained as needed to complete fulfillment and resolve foreseeable delivery issues. Transaction and accounting records may be retained for up to seven years when reasonably necessary for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes.
- Compass conversations and feedback: We intend to use a 12-month ordinary retention period when supported by the platform. Earlier deletion may be available following a verified request, subject to platform capabilities and legitimate security, abuse-prevention, or legal needs.
- Security and rate-limit records: Short-term records used to prevent repeated or abusive activity may be removed after their operational purpose has expired.
- Provider-controlled logs and records: Base44, Brevo, Cloudflare, Google, Stripe, and other providers may retain information according to their own platform settings, contractual requirements, backup systems, security needs, and retention policies.
Some retention is currently administered manually. We do not promise that every category is automatically deleted on a specific day.

You may contact us to request that we:
- Provide access to personal information we can reasonably identify as associated with you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete eligible personal information
- Provide a portable copy of eligible information

- Honor a marketing suppression request
- Preserve appropriate consent evidence
- Complete a transaction or fulfillment request
- Maintain tax or accounting records
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Protect website security
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal rights
Some anonymous Compass records may be difficult or impossible to associate with a particular person. Our ability to locate, export, or delete such records may depend on the information provided with the request and the technical capabilities of Base44.
These choices are offered subject to applicable law and reasonable verification. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the website, contact support@alreadyseries.com so that we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.
9. DATA SECURITY
We and our service providers use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information.
These measures may include encrypted connections, server-side handling of private credentials, access controls, token hashing, bot protection, and provider-managed security systems.
No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use care when deciding what information to submit, particularly through open-ended messages or Compass conversations.
10. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
The website is operated from the United States.
Some service providers may process or store information in the United States or other countries where they or their infrastructure providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those in your location.
The website is not presently intended to target individuals outside the United States, although it may be accessible from other countries.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when website features, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change.
The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or another reasonable method when appropriate.
